I remembered...

Who says
Who says you’re not perfect
Who says you’re not worth it
Who says you’re the only one that’s hurting
Trust me
That’s the price of beauty
Who says you’re not pretty
Who says you’re not beautiful
Who says

Sisterhood.

Sisterhood is extremely important for me. My sorority, Delta Zeta, helped shaped me during my collegiate years and continues to do so as an alumna. Delta Zeta brought me my closest friends, the gals I depend on daily for wisdom, guidance and strength.

Today, more than usual, I'd like to send prayers and strength to my sister Sofia. Sister, you are strong. I am here if you need anything. My prayers are with your family.

Hugs and Kisses to the Mejia Family.

Senior Portraits!

May is here and for many of you graduation is right around the corner! Congratulations Class of 2012!!! In honor of the 2012 graduates, I have created the following special Senior Portrait Collection. If you are interested in having fun graduation portraits, I am your girl!

Here are some of the details, I am available Monday through Friday and Weekends upon session availability. I highly recommend scheduling your session early in the morning (anywhere from 7 AM to 10 AM) or, if you are not a morning person, later on in the day (anywhere from 4 PM to 7 PM). We can schedule your session at other times during the day as well, but it will depend on the location of your interest. Regardless, call me and we can chat! I'd love to discuss the details of your session and congratulate you on your accomplishment.

Most of my seniors opt to have a their portraits taken in their cap & gown as well as with a cute, fun and unique outfit. This is certainly up to you; if you only want cap and gown photographs that is fine. Regardless, all Senior Collections will include a 45 minute session at the location of your choice, a wardrobe change (if desired), an 11x14 portrait in your cap & gown, five 5x7 photographs, and a CD with low resolution files for you to share with family and friends on your favorite social networking site(s).  The Senior Collection is $275 plus sales tax. You can pay in full or make payments. The option is up to you. You will receive your collection in full when your balance (if any) is paid. **Clients who pay in full at the time of booking will receive a special gift included in their collection! :)

See you soon Seniors!

Happy May!!!

Baby Zoey

A while back I photographed an old best friend. Ariana gave birth to her very first child this past weekend, a beautiful baby girl! Congratulations Ariana!!! (To view Ariana's maternity session, please CLICK HERE.) Baby Zoey is absolutely adorable, sweet and beautiful in every possible way imaginable. I have not photographed very many babies in the span of the past two-three years. I often think it is because I don't have that motherly instinct at the present moment so babies still make me a little bit nervous. However, every now and then comes a baby that wins over my heart.

This time, it was Baby Zoey.

I had been contemplating whether I would continue to offer newborn portraits for any future clients. I was most certain that Baby Zoey would be the last baby I'd photograph, at least for a few years. I figured I'd refer new parents to great baby photographers, I know a few ;)

I still have not made a concrete decision on the "Baby Issue" but I do know that Baby Zoey was both a great baby to end my "baby career" or a nice reminder of why I should meet more newborns. :)

Zoey was asleep the entire time. Not once did she let out a scream. What a cutie-patootie! The best part, she practically posed herself. Everytime her grandma Marty and I would move her and pose her a certain way she would move and pose a different way. Ariana, you may have a supermodel in waiting. Her mommy bought her the cutest little pink hats! They were cute but Zoey made them look so much cuter.

Welcome to the world Zoey!!!

Ariana congratulations on Baby Zoey's arrival!!! You are so blessed my friend. You will make an amazing mother and wish you and your little family all the blessings God has planned for you!!! Xoxoxox

D-bag.

Yes, I said it.

Before you misunderstand my message let me preface: I use NIKON for my cameras and lenses. My very first camera was a little D60. I then upgraded to a D300s. I am now looking to upgrade into another D-something for my camera bag...

Gear has been on my mind lately for a few varying reasons. First, it's time for an upgrade. I have outgrown my current camera and itching for more. Fair enough, right? Second, and unfortunately, gear has been on my mind because over the past week I have allowed someone's comments to affect me.

I said I could swim, remember? Then the sharks reminded me why I so often stay away from the water.

Someone asked me, flatly, if the photos I was showing were actually mine. Surely, this was merely an ice breaker, right? The hurtful comment, however, were the words inquiring how I could photograph with such an old camera. Yikes! I could have sworn I was using a digital camera and not a disposable Kodak...

Please excuse my pungent humor.

I have to make myself giggle or else I think I'd burrow myself into a corner. Some people are mean while others have an exquisite way of making you feel so much better. The past week and half I have received both hurtful and happy words. I could opt to dwell in the former but I choose the latter. I want to thank the kind people, my fellow peers, who have been nothing but kind to me recently, in the future, and from the very beginning. It's nice to have genuine hearts to cheer you on! Thank you Melissa, Amanda, Raymond and Che, who in the span of a few days made me smile!

{1.3 megapixels... can you believe that?!}

Let's have a great day friends!!!
