It's Friday!!!!!!!! ;)

Wohoo! It's Friday, aren't you excited? I am :) The week has been extremely busy for me but very productive. I've spent this week working on editing three different batches of photos and as of right now I have finished two sets. I plan on spending the evening finishing the last set and enjoy a fun-filled weekend. Quick announcement...I have been hired as the official photographer for a local city's annual festival featuring lots of food, fun, games, and music for the community of the Rio Grande Valley. I will spend all of Saturday afternoon and night photograhing the City of Pharr's 5th Annual HUB Phestival. If you are from the Rio Grande Valley I encourage you to stop by and enjoy the food, rides, and music. And if you are a Pat Green fan, I really encourage you to stop by at night. Pat Green is scheduled as the evening's main performer and the best part - it's all FREE! Come by and have some fun!

So I guess that will add another batch of photos I have to finish editing by the end of the weekend... But I can do it. I'm excited to photograph the day-long event so I can interact with people and get my photography business out there. What better way than like this? I hope to take full advantage of the opportunity :)

I hope you enjoy your Friday, Saturday and have a very fun and relaxing Sunday. God made weekends so we can have fun and always be safe ;) Until next time, I'll leave you with a preview of one of the sessions I am editing... the rest to come very soon.

Happy Friday, yay!!!

Turtles and Pearls.

Howdy! I hope you my dear are having an ah-mazing week... and an even better weekend. I have been really busy and will be for the next few days. How about you? Have you been busy lately? Amidst all this busy-ness I find myself - and in retrospect... have been in for the past few months - I constantly think about the little things in life I may possibly be missing out on. Every once in a while I remind myself to take a deep breath, really see the world and my surroundings and smile at the people I love. I make sure I take it all in and make a memory of everything my soul sees. I never want to forget anything - the tears, fears, and all the happiness I feel. It scares me sometimes when I realize a month is about to finish and I quickly force myself to stop and ponder all the little and big things I've experienced in the last few weeks. I hate to realize it's March and not know where my time has gone. I want to be able to say, "Hey, it's March. Whoah! I've done so many things already?" Don't you?

Regardless, I am still rather busy and I am sure you are very much as well. So I'd like to remind you to now and then smile and look around you. What do you see? You'll enjoy being busy so much more if you realize all the things you are accomplishing.

The next month I will be really busy and have a gazillion-billion things to do. So many projects I am working on but I am very excited and blessed to have the opportunity to take a bite out of so many things. I'm lucky and you are too ;) A few days ago I received one of the most sincere and special, meaningful gifts someone could give me. I am a simple kind of girl, I really am. Sure I love all things glamourous and everything bigger in Texas but the things which always mean the most and carve a place in my heart are the little things. The sweet smile you receive simply for being you. The spontaneous hello from across the room. The meaningless things we sometimes overlook. All these, they mean something to me. The man I love has just given me such a thing. It's not the exaggerated gift we sometimes claim to want and often ask for. It's so much more than that. And it means the world to me. Chris, you'll never understand what your single pearl signifies to me. I love you and with my heart I give you a very sincere and loving thank you.

What you see is a pearl mounted inside a tiny, little turtle. My heart sees the caring thought of a man who loves me. Chris found this pearl in an oyster and has since given it to me. I love it. I absolutely love it. It's the little things he does, when I least expect it, that's when he steals my heart - time after time.

I am so thankful for him and all the people in my life. I make it a point to stop, see and appreciate all I have. And as of Monday night, I am the proud owner of a pearl, a real pearl I'll wear next to my heart.

Happy Wednesday :)

D.E.C.O.R.A.T.E. it's fun :)

Howdy! I'm so excited the weekend is almost here as I have a fun event that I've planned and will also be photographing this Saturday. I'll let you know and post how that goes next week :) As for now I wanted to share with you some snapshots from my friend Lilly's Bachelorette Party. Her wedding is coming up very soon and as one of her bridesmaids, I've been busy helping her with whatever she needs. I'm so excited for her upcoming wedding!
I made many of the decorations, including the tissue poms, and all of her bridesmaids got together Saturday afternoon and decorated. I had so much fun decorating, preparing, and during her shower. I am sure she enjoyed it as well.

I hope you had a happy Thursday and an even happier Friday :)

Happy St. Patricks Day bloggernet! :) I hope you have a beautiful and extra-green day today :) May you find the lucky four leaf clover and your very own pot of gold.
A few days ago I mentioned one of my weddings may be moved up in date and guess what... It did! I'm so excited for Nathan and Mary's upcoming nuptials... April 9th 2010. Yay!

Happy Wednesday... :)

Crowns turn your frowns upside down. ;)

Hola! Today is just another manic Monday and I am so tired... The weekend flew by really fast and I have yet to catch up on some much needed sleep. Bridesmaid duties were on full swing Friday and Saturday. Sunday, the day of rest, was spent waking up early for a photo session and running various errands. Boy, I am so tired... my eyes want to fall close as I type this... but I don't want to break the habit of continous blogging so here I am :) I am so excited that March is half-way through and Spring is so near! The season and more constant weather will make shooting so much easier and lots more fun, yay!

Saturday was a beautiful, warm and sunny day. But I had a photo session scheduled for Sunday and the weather was not as cooperative... so much windy and a bit gloomy-looking. Regardless we went on as planned and the morning progressed into a quick session and I captured some really pretty images. For now, I will simply give you a glimpse as I prepare the rest of the photos. I'd like to share with you what the session was for and give you some proper information but time is not my friend at the moment so I will give you a glimpse...
P.S. One of my weddings may be moved up to a really, really soon date... I'm so excited! I'll keep you updated :)

Happy Monday :)

I think I'm talented?

As you slowly get to know me post by post, you'll begin to realize I am an immensely intricate woman. Along the way, however, you may notice that I also have many talents. Obviously I am a photographer but I am so much more than that. I am a child of God, a daughter, a sister, a co-worker, a student, a writer, a reader, a dreamer and oh-so-many more things in life. I am me and I am talented, I think. I write this because I want to share with you something I worked on a few days ago. It is not photography related but working on it is just as fun as photos for me. What is it you ask... invitations of course. I created these on Sunday as a last minute request for a special event taking place next weekend. I'll let you know more info on that soon...

Take a look at my little creations, aren't they whimsically-cute?

Each one (all thirty of them) were hand made with love and lots of attention to detail... and patience. Do you like?

Happy Wednesday :)

Letter to my mother.

Dear mother.

After twenty four years of knowing you as mom I am still amazed at how much I look up to you for guidance, love, acceptance and answers. You've made me mad, you've made me happy but never have you ever stopped loving me. As a mother I am sure it is your job to love me, but you really do love me. I am so thankful. Every action that I take I think about how it will affect you. I aspire to make you proud so that I may always be a reflection of who you are. Mother I love you.

I am so blessed with the opportunities I encounter every day. I thought I'd say a special thank you to the woman God chose to bring me through into this beautiful world. What are you thankful for?

Busy Bee and Some Cute Baby Pics...

Hey you! It's the third day in March but I feel like the month is in full swing... I'd give, possibly, a toe, for a mini-vacay right about now BUT since I love my toes I'll suck it up and smile :) I'm busy with work, scheduling photography sessions, family, friends, attempting a social life, being an older sister, a good daughter, making God happy and being the best bridesmaid I can be for my good friend Lilly. Her wedding, remember this blog post, is in about five weeks so bridesmaid duties are in full swing. I love it! So, as you have read, I have been a little busy... just a little ;)

If you remember, back in January I did my first baby session and a few days ago I said I finally had the time to blog the photos. I lied. I didn't post them yesterday but guess what, I'll post today ;) I know, you're so excited, right? I photographed baby Denaly Sarai back in January a week after she was born. She is a cutie... see for yourself.

Denaly's mommy, Blanca, has become a really good friend of mine so I am sure this is not the last you've seen of Baby Denaly on here ;)

I'll keep this short for today since I'm sure you're busy this Wednesday evening.

Thanks for reading, really.

March on!

Yay! It's already March... whoah! What?! I'm excited for Spring is almost near but creeped out by how fast time is passing. It's a good thing of course, for the most part. I've been a little, just a little, lazy this past February with photography but mainly because the weather has just not cooperated. I've had to re-schedule three photo sessions this month alone. But I guess it is good that March is here so I can go back to doing what I love... photographing people surrounded by the beauty of the earth :) Oh! I've also another announcement... I've booked another wedding!!! Yes friends, you've read correctly... this makes wedding #5. I am so blessed but more blessed are all the happy couples I've met who are getting married!!! And I'm thankful, of course, for those who have chosen me as their photographer. Couples: Thank you.

If you remember... a while back, back in January, I photographed my first baby and never got around to posting photos. Tomorrow, fiiii-naaaah-ly!!!, I will blog the session. I've been rather busy, but finally I have the time to sit through the photos and choose my favorites to share with you. For now, I leave you and for today, just for today, I say good night and Happy Monday without a picture.

:)
